Fox network is killing American Idol, the iconic singing competition that spawned a whole host of country - specific franchises the world over such as Indian Idol.
The show will run last time in 2016, making the 15 season its last, which was announced by the network on Monday in front of media coverage.
The show which debuted in Britain Pop Idols in 2001, came to the US in 2002, beginning an unparalleled run that is breathlessly described as historic and path breaking. This show was called the, "King of all reality shows" & "the God Father of The Voice & The X Factor rivals offering from rival channels"
It initially began loosing traction with viewera around 2012, when its viewer ship began falling. Winners of the show who went on to become big names in the much industry include Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson in the United States.
