Finally a good news comes in the way for all the tensed Maggi lovers. Maggi noodles a brand of Nestle said that the noodle brand has been tested in the laboratory as well as in-house and the results of the product came out to be "SAFE TO EAT" with the Lead Levels within the permitted level of consumption.
The company staff who were present were silent on the topic of presence of the taste changer Monosodium Gultamate (MSG) in Maggi Noddles brand. The company added that they had submitted samples of Maggi Noodles from almost 600 product batches to an external laboratory for independent analysis and over 1000 product batches at their accredited labs.
These samples totals to around 32 crore packets of Maggi Noodle packets, as 1 batch of Maggi is about 2 lakh packets. The results of both internal and external test showed that the lead levels present in the noodles were within the limits specified by the food regulations and proved that Maggi Noodles is Safe To Eat. The company has shared the results with authorities.
Last month UP FDA (Food And Drug Administration) asked Nestle India to withdraw a batch of manufactured noodles produced in the month of February 2014, as high levels of Monosodium Gultamate (MSG) were said to be found added as a taste maker to change the taste and the amount of lead were above the permissible limit.
The company had already said earlier that it does not add Monosodium Gultamate (MSG) to Maggi, but the UP FDA had rejected the claim. The case had been lodged in a local court at Barabanki, against the company, and celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, and Preity Zinta were also dragged to the court as the they were a part of Maggi Promotions.
The company further added that they can take whichever tests they want to as Maggi noodles undergoes a regular test on a weekly basis, including testing by accredited labs and they make sure that the lead levels are always below the permissible levels.
